This hands-on class is designed for firearm enthusiasts and operators who want to learn the fundamentals of assembling the AR-10/LR-308 platform. Participants will receive step-by-step guidance on the assembly process, understanding each component's function and significance.
Objectives:
Understand the AR-10/LR-308’s components and assembly techniques.
Gain practical experience in building a reliable and functional firearm.
Learn safety protocols and best practices for handling and firing the AR-10/LR-308.
Curriculum:
1. Introduction to the AR-10/LR-308
History and evolution of the platform.
Overview of parts and their functions.
2. Assembly Techniques
Tools required for assembly.
Step-by-step assembly from lower receiver to upper receiver.
Tips for troubleshooting common issues.
3. Safety and Maintenance
Firearm safety rules.
Routine maintenance and care for optimal performance.
4. Live Fire Experience
Participants will conduct live fire exercises after completing the assembly.
Instruction on proper shooting stance, grip, and aiming techniques.
Requirements:
*Participants must be 18 years or older and must pass the required background check before the classroom session begins, and be legally allowed to own/possess a firearm.*
It is highly recommended that participants enroll and come in to complete background check at least 5 days prior to ensure no delays in the participants class time.
Safety gear, including eye and ear protection, will be provided.
All necessary tooling will be provided for the classroom portion only.
All components for a complete rifle (excluding sights and optics) will be provided.
30 rounds of ammunition will be provided for live fire
By the end of the class, participants will leave with a fully assembled AR-10/LR-308 and the confidence to safely operate and maintain their firearm. This course is perfect for both beginners and experienced shooters looking to deepen their understanding of the AR-10/LR-308 platform.
